Making Paper-Mache Snowmen

This winter, before we had any snow, we made paper-mache snowmen. I hope you enjoy the photos below.

Cover 2 or 3 balloons, of different sizes, in paper dipped in flour mixed with water. Here’s Lucas hard at work!
Store them overnight to dry, you will need a few coats. Burst and remove the balloons and cut off the lower section, around the existing opening, so that the balloon will stand upright without help.

Paint all over in white paint (2 or 3 coats) and add black eyes and mouth.
Here’s me gluing on an orange nose, we used felt.

He can smell now!
Add black buttons (black paint) to the body and don’t forget to have fun!
Attach the body to the head to complete your snowman. Lucas and I made a tall 3 section snowman.

This was Chloe and Abby’s snowman, he only had 2 sections.
Add your choice of hat and scarf so he doesn’t get too cold.
You can add large googly eyes if you want!

Make more than one so they always have a friend and, unlike the snowmen we made in February, these will never melt.

Remember to name them. This is Frosty and Winter Bookcase!
