There’s a Dinosaur in my Living Room!

There’s a dinosaur in my living room
He’s as real as you and me
Not like the one wrapped up
Beneath our Christmas tree.
He’s smaller than our turkey
Slow-roasting in the oven
I wonder if he likes meat
Or if he’s vegetarian?

He creeps along beside the sofa
Trying to be stealthy
But when the fire gives a POP
He jumps and tries to flee!
But in his haste he doesn’t see
The toy snowman by the armchair
And when they fall into a heap
It gives him quite a scare.

I wonder if any dinosaurs saw
A real snowman made by men
But it’s likely 5,000 years ago
We didn’t make them then.
He picks himself up off the floor
I can tell the moment that he sees
A dazzling sight with lights so bright
Our colourful Christmas tree!

Just like the wise men searching
For a Baby who was King
The Christmas star draws him on
For treasure that is waiting.
He sees the gifts wrapped up
Below the wondrous sight
And jumps on to the mountain
To climb with all his might.

He makes his way from branch to branch
The tree wobbles from side to side
I know if it was me up there
I’d be more than terrified!
So maybe you should have a check

Upon your Christmas tree!
